Frequently asked questions
Common questions about our business internet and MDU solutions.
What areas do you serve?
We provide commercial connectivity throughout San Diego County, including South Bay, East County, and central San Diego. Check our coverage map to see if your specific address is in our service area.
What's the difference between business wireless and fiber?
Business wireless uses licensed spectrum to deliver high-speed connectivity without trenching fiber. It's faster to deploy and more flexible. Dedicated fiber provides a physical fiber line to your building with guaranteed bandwidth and the highest performance. We recommend fiber for mission-critical operations and wireless for rapid deployment or as a backup.
How quickly can you install service?
Business wireless typically installs within 1-2 weeks of contract signing. Dedicated fiber requires construction and typically takes 30-90 days depending on permits and distance from our network. MDU installations vary based on building size and complexity, usually 4-8 weeks.
Do you require long-term contracts?
Our standard business plans don't require long-term contracts—we believe in earning your business every month. Dedicated fiber builds typically involve 1-5 year agreements due to the infrastructure investment. MDU contracts are usually 3-5 years.
What does 'symmetric' mean?
Symmetric means your upload speed equals your download speed. Most consumer internet has much slower upload than download. For businesses, symmetric speeds are crucial for video conferencing, cloud backups, file sharing, and hosting services.
Do you offer static IP addresses?
Yes, static IP addresses are included with all business plans. We can provide blocks from /29 to /24 depending on your needs. IPv6 is also available.
What happens if there's an outage?
Our business plans include SLA guarantees with specified response times. For wireless service, we have redundant paths and can often reroute traffic. For fiber, we monitor 24/7 and dispatch technicians immediately. We also offer failover solutions that automatically switch to backup connections.
Can you provide backup/failover internet?
Yes, we offer failover solutions that automatically switch to a backup connection if your primary goes down. Many businesses use our wireless service as a failover for their existing fiber, or vice versa.
How does MDU bulk internet work?
We install infrastructure throughout your property and deliver high-speed internet to every unit. Property owners can include it in rent (bulk model) or offer it as a premium service (revenue share model). Tenants get better internet at lower cost than individual subscriptions.
What support do you offer?
All business plans include priority support with direct access to our San Diego-based team. Higher-tier plans include 24/7 support and faster response times. We don't offshore support—you'll always talk to someone who knows the local network.
Is there a data cap?
No. All our business plans include unlimited data with no caps or overage fees. Use what you need.
Can you service my high-rise building?
Yes, we serve commercial buildings of all sizes including high-rises. Installation typically involves roof access for wireless antennas or riser access for fiber. We coordinate with building management for all access.
How do I sign up for text message updates?
You can opt in to SMS messages by checking the SMS consent box during signup, texting START to our business number, or asking our team during a call. You will receive service notifications, appointment reminders, and support responses. See our SMS Terms and Conditions for details.
How do I stop text messages?

Will I be charged for text messages?
Like Whoa does not charge for SMS messages, but your mobile carrier may charge standard messaging fees depending on your plan. Message and data rates may apply. Check with your carrier for details.
